Kids & Teens Classes

Kids and Teens classes at Grapple Labs are structured, engaging and age-appropriate. Each session is designed to keep students active while building confidence, coordination and understanding of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

Class Structure

Kids (7-11 years)

✓ 45-minute class
✓ Games-based warm-ups 
✓ Introduction to core Jiu Jitsu techniques
✓ Supervised partner drills
✓ Fun challenges to reinforce learning and focus

Teens (11-16 years)

✓ 1-hour class
✓ Dynamic warm-ups to build strength and mobility
✓ Technical instruction with clear explanations
✓ Partner drills and positional training
✓ Controlled sparring where appropriate

Safeguarding

Your child’s safety and wellbeing are our top priority. All our coaches are First Aid Trained, DBS checked, experienced and qualified to work with young people. Techniques are taught in a controlled, age-appropriate way, with an emphasis on respect, listening and safe training behaviours. Parents are always welcome to speak to a coach before or after a class if they have any questions or concerns.

Uniform Requirements

Kids and teens classes train in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gi. For your first class feel free to wear any sports clothing but if you decide to train regularly you will need to wear a gi with a fitted rashguard or t-shirt underneath. These can be purchased from us or any other other supplier of your choice.
